Being God's Children (1 John 3:1, 2)

BEING GOD'S CHILDREN (1 JOHN 3:1, 2):

After writing about accepting the sins, acknowledging the atoning sacrifice and living a righteous life, Apostle John continues to write to the believers to see what kind of love the Father had given to them that the believers should be called children of God, and so the believers are children of God. Apostle John also writes that the reason why the world does not know them is that it did not know Christ. The believers in Christ are so much advantaged that they are reconciled with God by complete forgiveness from God and their repentance. The believers further have the privilege of being called as children of God because of the lavishing love the Father God had given to all those who believe in Christ. Everyone who believes in Lord Jesus Christ is the children of God, as God had sent His son by His Eternal purpose, for the redemption of mankind. The world does not know the privilege of believers and their relationship with God, as they do not know about the Lord Jesus Christ personally by acknowledging and accepting Him into their life, by giving up their life for God and living in God’s commandments.
Apostle John further writes to the believers that they are beloved to Him and they are God’s children then and what they will be is not yet appeared, but they know that when Jesus appears they shall be like Him.  Because they shall be like Him, they shall see Him as He is. The believers’ present status is that they are God’s children, whereas what will be at the end of the ages is not visibly known to the believers for sure and the one thing that could be certain is when Christ appears there will be a difference between Godly and ungodly, the believers who are Godly will know that they are like Christ in physicality and mentality because every believer shall see Christ in person in His glory and majesty without blemishes. Only when the believers see Christ as He is, they will know about the things that are not physically seen at present.

Stimulations for Self-Reflection:
1.      What kind of love the Father had given the believers?
2.      How believers are called the children of God?
3.      Why the world does not know the believers?
4.      How we could be children of God?
5.      What is not yet appeared?
6.      What do the believers know?
7.      What is the hope we can have, being God’s Children?
