Protect from Sins and Evil (1 John 5: 17-21)
PROTECT FROM SINS AND EVIL
(1 JOHN 5: 17-21):
After writing about the
basic necessities for life as believers, Apostle John continues to write decisively
about protecting themselves from the sins and evilness. Apostle John writes that all wrongdoing is
sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. All the things that are
injustice and ungodly are sins. Sin is the deviation, by disobedience to God.
Though all the sin leads to death, a person is forgiven when he repents with a
true heart. The glitches of sin could still present, though a person believes
in God and repents. But the person who blasphemes against God and His spirit after
knowing His power will sure be lead to death as there is no other redemption
available.
Apostle John also writes
that the believers know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on
sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not
touch him. The believers know that they
are from God and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. The genuine
believers who had been born again and desire to please God, do not keep on
doing the wrong again and again but instead try their best to avoid it, and
overcome the sin with the strength of God and Godly values, without being hurt
or hurting others, and the invisible powers could never affect them. The
committed believers know for certain that they ought to live a life by keeping
the commandments of God, in order to be joyful, peaceful, and content. They also
could differentiate and discrete the false standards and illusions of the world
that are from the evilness, the end of which is devastation.
Apostle John further
writes that the believers know that the Son of God had come and had given them
understanding, so that they may know God, who is true and the believers are in God,
who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. Apostle John also writes that Jesus is
true God and eternal life. The believers know Jesus Christ who had come in
flesh as a sacrifice for sins, once for all. Also, Jesus manifested the values
of God and the Love of God to us, demonstrating and expressing the characteristics
of God to us, offering the inheritance in God and eternal life for whoever truly
believes in Him. Apostle John makes a final note to the believers, to be away
from idols, by addressing them as little children. Idols needn’t be just the
statues and images, but false ideologies and hypocrisy taking off the Qualities
of God could also be Idols, which should be taken off by the true believers in
God.
